On Monday, 30th September, we went on a trip to Carlucciland, the landfill and Te Papa to learn about reusing, reducing, recycling, rethinking and repairing.
CARLUCCILAND
We ate our lunch at Carlucciland.
We gave mini-golf a go!
So so heavy!!
LANDFILL
We saw what happens to the rubbish when it gets to the tip.
All the parent helpers and teachers had to wear orange vests.
We went into the recycling centre, which is called Second Treasures - this is where people can buy things that other people have thrown out. That means they are
reusing old things. Some things need to be
repaired.
Donna told us that you can put old clothes in the clothing bins even if they have holes in them. They get
recycled and turn into rags, or if they are good enough, they get sold on so that someone else can
reuse them.
