Opinions, Opinions, Opinions

In class we have been learning about expositions/persuasions/arguments. We have learnt about the structure of persuasive writing, how to ask rhetorical questions and how to really sell an idea or thing to our audience.

Today we talked about what an opinion is and we thought of a whole lot of different topics and had to decide what our OWN opinion was. Our opinion is what we think about something.

In this clip we are giving our reasons why we think children should or should not have to go to school.

Te Wiki o te Reo Maori

Last week was Maori Language Week.

On Wednesday we swapped classrooms to do different activities.

Lauren, Tomin, Charlotte and Owen went to Room 6 where they made Maori patterns out of red, white and black card.

Kaleb, Michelle, James, Elaizo and Hannah R spent the morning in Room 3 where they practised their weaving skills.

Hepzibah and Jayden went to Room 1. They wrote and decorated Maori proverbs using ICT.

Connor went to Room 2 with Paul and Suvin where they learnt how to perform with rakau.

Ellie went on her own to Room 7 to sing beautiful waiata.

Matthew, John and Miharo stayed in Room 4 to practise poi and haka.
