This week in class, we have been playing a game that helps us to learn the names of different things in the classroom. We already know the names of the equipment in English, but we want to learn them in Maori.
The leader stands up the front of the class, holding up a piece of equipment. They ask the rest of the class the question:
"He aha tenei?" which means "What is this?"
If we think we know the answer, we put up our hands and say:
"He ________ tena" which means "That's a ________"
We really enjoy playing this game and like to learn te reo Maori.
Elaizo: "He aha tenei?"
James: "He pukapuka tena."
Suvin: "He aha tenei?"
Kaleb: "He kutikuti tena."
